I'm Nik Lizcano. I'm from Chicago, and I've been DJing for over 10 years now.
What I love about DJing is interacting with different couples, getting a feel for what kind of music they like and what kind of event they want to have, and bringing the party.
One thing I love about working with Move is the fluidity of the process, from booking the DJ to getting to know the client and building a relationship with the couple leading up to the event.
When I'm prepping for a gig, I'm creating a playlist based on what they want to hear. Some couples like to focus on something specific, while others are like, "I don't know. I've never done this before."
I'm trying to cultivate an experience that's specific to them. But once I get there, I know how to bring the party, changing things up on the fly.
I like to work in remixes or mashups. At the end of the day, I'm there to enhance the energy that's already there.
Anytime there are people ready to have a good time, I'm like, "Let's go!"
I love bringing the party. I love adding in remixes and mashups, blending songs that you love together in ways you didn't expect, and creating those moments throughout the night.
